If I Had to be A…
I was reading Kurt Johnston’s blog today and saw that he’s playing an interesting game of tag. It’s been a slow week on my blog, so I decided to play along.
“IF YOU HAD TO BE A _____________ (who would you be and why)”
1. FAMOUS PERSON FROM HISTORY: One of Jesus’ disciples, as it would have been amazing to have spent time with Him during His ministry on earth.
2. CELEBRITY:Matt Damon. Though I don’t read gossip magazines or web sites, I’ve never heard of him getting into trouble with drugs, alcohol, etc. Plus, he’s been in lots of great movies, including the upcoming Bourne Ultimatum (though my favorite is probably still Good Will Hunting).
3. ATHLETE: Does a coach count? If so, Tony Dungy. I’ve read a fair amount about his background and he’s truly amazing. He’s experienced lots of ups and downs throughout his life, but through it all he’s remained a devout Christian.
4. FAMOUS MUSICIAN: Steven Curtis Chapman. Quite possibly the best contemporary Christian musician alive (though I do enjoy many others).
5. CHRISTIAN MOVER AND SHAKER: John Ortberg. I’m not sure what qualifies someone as a “mover and shaker,” but I’ve read some of his books and they really get me thinking about what it really means to be a Christian.
