Last night was The Gathering’s first meeting of the winter/spring season after two weeks off for the Christmas and New Year holidays.  Parents were asked to attend so details of the spring schedule could be flushed out, particularly who prepares dinner and provides transportation.  Additionally, I wanted to make a decision on whether or not we’ll be attending Impact in March and get an idea of how many people were interested in attending Creation in June.

Unfortunately, none of the items on the agenda were completed because of poor attendance: we had only five youth and five parents attend the meeting.  I knew one family wasn’t going to be there, but the others were a complete surprise.  The most disappointing part is that I mailed letters with the spring schedule to each student, so everyone knew the meeting was scheduled.

Now, when I have a chance at night after work, I have to call the other families and review the meeting so that this season runs smoothly.  What fun!
