Twitter Tools Plugin Deactivated

A quick FYI to readers of my blog.  Earlier today I disabled one of the WordPress plugins I’ve been using for a number of weeks: Alex King’s Twitter Tools.
While I love the plugin because it allows me to show my recent tweets in my blog’s sidebar, I had to disable the plugin because it was [...]

For Love of Air Conditioning

For the past few days, temperatures in Central PA (and much of the East Coast) have been in the mid-to-upper 90s with a fair amount of humidity. While the heat and humidity are rather oppressive, it’s easy to escape this deadly duo by seeking relief in an air-conditioned environment.
The apartment I’ve lived in for [...]

PopNoggins

I spent much of last week at a conference in Washington, D.C. with a bunch of coworkers (hence the lack of posts). Each year, on the last night of the conference there’s a “Be True To Your School” party where attendees are invited to wear school clothing/colors and hang out with others. There’s [...]

If you notice [...]

Sorry for the brief hiatus from posting; things have been a little busier than normal. Here’s a recap of my summer vacation.
On August 18, I flew from Harrisburg to Roanoke (by way of Atlanta–pretty silly, huh?) to visit my family. My oldest sister moved there in 2000, my youngest sister moved there in [...]

If I Had to be A…

I was reading Kurt Johnston’s blog today and saw that he’s playing an interesting game of tag. It’s been a slow week on my blog, so I decided to play along.
“IF YOU HAD TO BE A _____________ (who would you be and why)”
1. FAMOUS PERSON FROM HISTORY: One of Jesus’ disciples, as it would [...]

Favorite Republican Presidential Candidate

I haven’t posted in ages and how do I break the fast? With a post about politics, of course
Earlier this week, I was watching The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (live, which is pretty hard to believe considering how crazy busy and exhausted I’ve been lately) and Jon interviewed Congressman Ron Paul, [...]

NCAA Office Pool

For the first time ever, I’ve won an NCAA pool!! I came in first place in the office pool we have at SU, winning about $95. Subtracting the $5 entry fee and $10 or $15 I’ll give to my church, that leaves me with a profit of $75. Not bad, eh?
I also [...]
